Spreading Awareness for Cystinosis
M Doucette Production was hired by Cambridge BioMarketing to produce a campaign for their latest pharmaceutical campaign. Cystinosis is a rare, metabolic disease that affects about 2,000 people worldwide and causes cystine amino acid to accumulate in various organs of the body. Without specific treatment, children with cystinosis develop end-stage kidney failure at approximately age 9 years old. But thanks to ongoing treatment, it is now possible for patients to live lives that are not only longer, but better.
CONCEPT: The goal of the campaign was to remind our cystinosis sufferers to stay strong, continue their treatment and never fall victim to fading away.
CHALLENGE: Produce a one-day, on location commercial photoshoot with four models to portray cystinosis patients in four completely different settings.
OUR SOLUTION: Hire New York photographer Scott Nobles, whose illustrative quality, fast-paced yet consistent work ethic and mastery of digital compositing are second to none.
Locations – Each scene was vastly different from the next: school, garden, urban street corner and parking garage. Thankfully, Michele was able to scout 4 locations within a 2-minute driving distance. Problem solved.
Crew – Wardrobe stylist Sara Mills-Broffman, Digital tech Rob Coshow and production assistant Robyn Maguire keep an eye on the monitor to ensure photographic perfection.
